Project Description
With construction already underway when the owners of this home commissioned Natalie for interior design assistance, the design response needed to be immediate and resourceful, to keep up with the construction program. Look was able to provide suggestions to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of their spaces, whilst encapsulating the owners unique vision to juxtapose old with new. At the front, the home retains its modest scale with traditional elements. The rear is a very modern, split-level addition which is complemented with contemporary interior materials, lots of texture and a few curves to break up the otherwise rectilinear form. Favourite materials choices included recycled bricks, handmade ceramics, natural stone, white American oak and abstract bronze.
